STAY (for Anna)

As the cruiser tried its mighty way to stay afloat the brazen waves of the day, I took this picture of a reddish anchorage while thinking of all the relationships evolving, growing, muting or ending in my life, namely the flailing one between mother and son I tried my best to stir, with limited success, while you were ailing.

So this photograph, which I called STAY, figuratively called for you not to go where you wanted to, even though you couldn’t hold on anymore, you had done your time, you had taken some of the joys of this world and endured the ravenous pains it always brings, you were ready to go. And two months later, you would be gone forever…
