PORTRAITS OF A VASE
The scene may be single, sometimes, yet the feeling is multiple, calling for appreciations of various kinds…
WHERE WE STAND - The scene was set so perfectly it seemed, even to me, to have been carefully prepared. But it wasn’t. In actuality, looking for my smartphone, I had just stepped back for five minutes into a desolate hotel room I had already inhabited for two days and couldn’t wait to leave. And then I saw this scene. So I just pressed click… and made a mental note to remember that appreciation is all relative, in life, depending on where we stand.
HERE - Couldn't escape the quiet confidence of this vase sitting in the early evening light, politely calling for its shapes, textures and motifs not to be touched but tasted, photographically, from afar.
